Invisalign Clear Aligners

Invisalign clear aligners are an alternative to metal braces. Invisalign clear aligners are made out of transparent plastic and custom designed to straighten your unique smile. During your treatment, you will receive new aligners around every two weeks. Each set of aligners will make small changes to the alignment of your smile, gently moving your teeth into place. Invisalign clear aligners should be worn 22 hours a day in order for you to experience the complete benefits of treatment, and you will also visit us regularly so we can check your progress.

Orthodontic Issues Invisalign Clear Aligners Can Help With

Like braces, Invisalign clear aligners can help with a variety of orthodontic problems, such as:

  • Teeth that are crowded together
  • Teeth that are crooked
  • Teeth that have gaps or spaces between them
  • Teeth that have an irregular bite, such as a crossbite, open bite, overbite or underbite

Benefits of Invisalign Clear Aligners

Invisalign clear aligners offer discretion during your orthodontic treatment, allowing you to straighten your teeth without obvious wires. This makes clear aligners a great option for teenagers and adults who want to avoid the look of braces. The aligners are removable, so you can take them out while eating or brushing or flossing your teeth, giving you the ability to still enjoy your favorite foods without the typical diet restrictions of metal braces. Invisalign clear aligners are also a more comfortable orthodontic option, as the aligners are made out of thin plastic.

Taking Care of Invisalign Clear Aligners

To avoid staining your aligners, remove them when eating food or drinking anything other than water. Also, do not smoke or chew gum when your aligners are in. Brush your teeth after eating, and regularly clean your aligners. To clean your aligners, use the Invisalign cleaning system or gently use a toothbrush and toothpaste with lukewarm water. Hot water will warp the aligners.

Broken or Lost Invisalign Clear Aligners

Contact our office right away if your aligners are broken or lost. We will decide whether you need a replacement or if you can wear the aligners from the previous set or move on to the next set.
